In early 1980s the invention of MRIs revolutionized the diagnostic imaging industry with a non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that provides superior resolution without side effects.
MRI creates detailed images, allowing physicians to view inside of the human body with precision. MRI has no side effects because it uses magnetic signals (not radiation) to see through the body. Images produced by MRI technology are used more and more in early diagnosis of a variety of medical conditions, including:
MRI studies allow physicians to analyze and confirm medical conditions. As a result, doctors have access to more accurate information when determining the most appropriate treatment.
Islamabad Diagnostic Center offers three Open MRI Systems.
All above systems gives high quality images while wide open design eliminates claustrophobia making study comfortable. Qualified radiographers work under the team of experienced and highly qualified Radiologists to conduct studies. MRI scan can be used to help diagnose conditions, plan treatments and assess how effective previous treatment has been.
What happens during scanning?
During an MRI scan, flat bed gradually moves into the scanner and scanner captures body images so it is advised not to move during procedure. Scan time varies between 15 and 50 minutes, depending on the size of the area being scanned.
Safety & preparation before an MRI scan:
MRI scans are painless and very safe. Usually no preparation is required. MRI uses magnetic field so people with metallic medical implants are not advised to undergo this test.
Patients with following devices may tell the doctor before procedure.
In case if you are not sure, you may undergo an X-ray before an MRI scan, to make sure you are safe to enter the scanner.
