Chemistry & Special Chemistry

Chemistry department of IDC has experienced and well qualified staff supervised by qualified and dedicated Pathologists. All routine chemistry and special chemistry tests are being performed on the automated analyzers from world renowned companies.

Round the clock testing services are available with a facility of getting reports on urgent basis within two hours.

All routine chemistry tests e.g. Liver Function Tests,  Renal Function tests, Lipid Profile, Pre Dialysis profile, Post Dialysis profile, Antenatal Profile, Blood glucose, HBA1c, Microalbumin urea etc. and immunological parameters e.g. Hormones (Thyroid, Fertility) Tumor Markers, Hepatitis Profile, Cardiac enzymes, Muscle enzymes, therapeutic Drugs levels, DOAP (Drug of Abuse profile) tests COVID-19 IgM & IgG antibodies and   Spike protein antibodies and many more are performed on state of the art Abbott Alinity and Roche Cobas 6000 , fully automated modular systems having capacity of performing >1000 routine chemistry tests per hour.

Backup analyzer are available to ensure uninterrupted services round the clock.

All instruments are interfaced with Lab Management Software which ensures direct transfer of test results from the instruments to minimize clerical errors.

The main strength and distinguishing feature of IDC Chemistry section is its excellent and exceptionally meticulous quality control system.

Internal Quality control is done by use of Control materials on daily basis for providing accurate results to the patients.

External Quality Assurance is ensured by regular participation in External Quality Control Programs like EQAS-BIORAD USA, RIQAS and CAP (College of American Pathologists)

Abnormal results are rechecked before being reported, further ensuring precision and accuracy.

SYNLAB & TDL Facility

To facilitate patients, tests not available in Pakistan are sent to Synlab, Germany and The Doctor’s Lab, UK.
