Dr. Khurshid Ahmad, Consultant Microbiologist – joined IDC right from its inception in 2005.
Graduated from Nishtar Medical College Multan (Punjab University) 1957. Post-graduation in Clinical Microbiology (D. Bact) from London University 1966, followed by one and a half year assignment in UK- mainly at Diagnostic Reference Laboratory (Central Public Health Reference Laboratory), Colindale, London.
Lifelong work experience in Clinical Microbiology in various capacities since 1960 including:
Nishtar Medical College & Hospital Multan; NIH Islamabad (with lifetime honorary position as Scientist Emeritus since 1998), Central Laboratory & Blood Bank, MOH, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; PIMS Islamabad ( Head of Pathology Dept 1986), KRL Hospital Islamabad; Islamic International Medical College ( Asst. Professor), Rawalpindi.
Publications: 12 original and 5 review papers in indexed journals; Authorship x 2 (- National Guidelines on Lab Diagnosis of HIV/AIDS, Published by MOH Government of Pakistan, 2001; – Communicable Disease Profile of Pakistan-Urdu Version, WHO, 2001 ).
